ANTI AGING and HELP for YOUR HORMONES…

Many symptoms that women experience are due to a phenomenon known as estrogen dominance. Dr. John Lee first coined this term in his book, ” What your Doctor May Not Tell you about Menopause.” More recently Dr Christiane Northrup also refers to estrogen dominance in her latest book about menopause.

Although most of the current literature alludes to its effects on women of perimenopausal and menopausal years, it is useful to know that having too much estrogen and not enough of the balancing
hormone progesterone also affects girls in puberty, teens, and women in all decades of life.

Due to the effects of estrogen imitators such as pesticides, herbicides, plastics, cleaning products and the hormones that we consume in meat, milk and poultry, little girls are developing secondary sex characteristics as early as age three, in some cases. Teens are experiencing acne, PMS, painful periods and heavy bleeding and are being put on the birth control pill to regulate their cycle. Women in their teens and twenties are developing endometriosis and polycystic ovary syndrome.

Many suffer from infertility. Just sit in on coffee breaks in work settings all over North America to hear about the agony of menstrual and menopausal discomfort, depression, migraines and hot flashes. Many women frequent electrolysis studios to deal with unwanted facial hair. Most wonder where their waists have gone and why they have developed large abdomens… the androgens in their bodies are also out of balance. Thyroid hormone no longer can function as nature intended. Bones deteriorate with osteoporosis…
All of these symptoms may be due to having too much estrogen and not enough progesterone. The more estrogen we have in our bodies, the less progesterone we produce.

Anyone who is on hormone replacement therapy is adding more estrogen, in synthetic form to a body that already, in most cases has too much. The side effects of this may be at least uncomfortable and
could be downright dangerous.

There is a solution to this that is easy and has to do with bowel regularity, a diet rich in cruciferous vegetables and the use of essential fatty acids. These simple interventions in addition to an exercise plan and balanced diet can bring high estrogen down. Absorbable progesterone cream, cycled correctly, can supplement to correct the balance.

We belong to a ‘quick-fix’ culture. It is important to note that simply using progesterone cream in the absence of the estrogen-lowering components of a balancing program will provide only temporary success.

Wellness involves a commitment to a life style of ‘selfconsideration’.

The avenue to success is paved with education about being tested to evaluate your hormones and then going on a hormone and nutritional program.

Finally, evaluate your hormones with a saliva test. Excessive alcohol, overdoing exercise, sleep deprivation and stress can all interfere with hormone balance. A saliva test will tell you which hormones are in balance and which are not…from there your own personalized program is set up for you…for a complimentary program, pick up your first gift on the top right and from there, we can talk about your hormonal needs.

I look forward to chatting with you!

Hey Linda,

Very Interesting post… while the issue doesn’t directly affect me, it certainly does give me a little more insight in to our bodily health in general.

Specifically, as you were rhyming off the effects of all the chemicals that were exposed to, it’s a miracle that we’re even still walking around.

It’s another basket full of reasons to be more cognizant of not only what we put in our bodies, but what we expose them to.

Thanks for sharing this IMPORTANT information.

Linda,
I couldn’t agree more with your concerns for women’s health issues around hormone replacement therapy. I take impactful supplements and watch my eating habits. After your tips, I will add more fresh vegetables to my diet. Asparagus is up & oh so tasty!

Thanks for always sharing such great information with us,
Val

Hi Linda,
This is the line that really hit home for me:
“Wellness involves a commitment to a life style of ‘selfconsideration’.”
In that one sentence, you sum up the crux of the situation when it comes to wellness: individual responsibility. The “quick-fix” culture you allude to plays a huge role in taking away personal responsibility…people are taught these days from a very young age that someone else will fix any problems that come along, including problems with health! It has become so ingrained into the culture that awareness is seriously lacking with regard to pro-active choices.
I learned a lot from this post about my own hormonal balance, and am going to find out what my estrogen-progesterone ratios are. Thanks for the detailed info and for continuing to share exceptional content!

There is so much great information in this post Linda! And you know, I agree with Mary Lou regarding the comment “Wellness involves a commitment to a life style of ‘self consideration’”. I am totally guilty of not taking on the responsibility for my wellness. Hormones can wreak havoc in your body – that is for sure. I am really interested in doing that saliva test you mentioned. Let me know what my next step would be. Thanks so much for sharing this great information. I miss talking with you!

Dr. Linda,
Very informative post on women’s health issues. I agree with Mary Lou, the most thought provoking statement here was “Wellness involves a commitment to a life style of ‘selfconsideration’”. Wow. I’ll be chewing on that one statement all night! :-)
